Adults-Only Resorts in Puerto Vallarta
Quieter pools, couples-focused, no kids — the grown-up version of the resort holiday.
If your idea of a beach holiday is calm rather than cannonballs, an adults-only resort keeps the all-inclusive convenience without the family-resort noise. Puerto Vallarta and the wider bay have a good range.
What "adults-only" gets you

Where to look
Adults-only all-inclusives cluster in the Hotel Zone, Marina and up the coast in Nuevo Vallarta. Two very different kinds of adults-only
The label covers two products that have almost nothing in common, and booking the wrong one is the usual source of disappointment:

What "adults-only" does and doesn't guarantee
It guarantees no children. It does not guarantee quiet — some adults-only resorts are built around pool parties and DJs, others around spa silence. Read recent reviews for the words "lively" and "music", not just the star rating. Minimum ages vary (commonly 16 or 18), so check if you're travelling with older teenagers.
Questions worth asking before booking

- Are the à la carte restaurants included, and do they need booking on arrival?
Old Town's adults-only scene
Worth knowing: Zona Romántica has a concentration of small adults-only and gay-owned hotels, several of them clothing-optional or men-only.
